New Life Daily Declaration — The Foundation Is Resurrection

“Having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.”
— Colossians 2:12 (NKJV)

If you are a Christian, you have begun a life of walking with God. I congratulate you—you have entered a powerful, entirely new life: a life on earth as it is in heaven.

When did we become Christians? At the very moment we received Christ as our Savior. And what occurred at that moment? Something decisive took place that enabled us to begin a heavenly life—a supernatural life.

When we received Jesus as Savior, we received all that He accomplished on behalf of humanity. In doing so, we were united with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Everything Jesus Christ accomplished was completed long before we were born. Salvation stands before us like a lavish feast—freely prepared, awaiting our reception.

When we embrace the salvation Christ finished for us, we are raised together with Him. The Holy Spirit—God Himself—comes upon us, and each of us begins to live a life of power, just as Christ did.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

All who have been redeemed into Christ are entirely new creations. How did we enter into Christ’s life? By being raised together with Him and receiving His life as our own. We have been recreated according to the likeness of Christ. We are born out of His resurrection, and we now live out His life.

If you are a Christian, you must understand this: you are called a Christian and a child of God because you have been raised with Christ and have received His life. In Christ, we bear His likeness—holiness, righteousness, glory; faith, power, and wholeness. Before God, we stand as Christ stands—without blemish, without accusation, wholly accepted, fully reflecting His image. For it is the precious blood of Jesus Christ that has cleansed us from sin; it is Christ who died on the cross for us; and it is with Christ that we have been raised.

This resurrection grants us an entirely new identity. Everything is redefined according to the pattern of Christ. This resurrection is effected by the power of the Holy Spirit, filling us with the likeness of the risen Christ—even empowering us to raise the dead. This resurrection brings us into a realm of complete victory and glory, seating us with Christ in authority.

It is precisely through being raised with Christ that we receive a new destiny. We are now new creations—a heavenly people, children born of God, witnesses of Christ’s resurrection, and those empowered to destroy the works of the devil.

Resurrection is the foundation of my existence in Christ. It is the beginning of my new life. It is the starting point of imitating Christ—the first step in living out His life.
